Regular inspection and maintenance of hyperboloid mixers

How it works

The task of agitation and aeration systems in biological wastewater treatment is to transport large amounts of oxygen to the wastewater with less energy consumption. At the same time, the effluent must be well mixed so that the oxygen concentration and flocculent activated sludge can be evenly dispersed throughout the reactor and to ensure that sedimentation is avoided.

In order to ensure the oxygen supply, bubbles of optimal size must be generated. Only in this way can it be ensured that the oxygen introduced can be fully utilized. The optimal bubble size depends on the depth at which the gas is introduced. In order for the bubbles in the pool to have a long residence time, the gas introduction should be as deep as possible. Therefore, bubbles should be formed as close as possible to the bottom of the sink rather than to the surface of the water.

Adequate agitation is essential for the optimal and safe operation of the activated sludge system. The impact of agitation on a system's purification capacity is often underestimated. However, this is easy to understand, for example, the sediment at the bottom of the sink not only reduces the usable reactor capacity, the amount of oxygen is reduced, and toxins are produced. In addition to the reduced performance, this also leads to a decrease in the sedimentation quality of the flocculent sludge in the secondary sedimentation tank.

However, inadequate agitation can also lead to oxygen gradients in the activated sludge tank. On the other hand, due to the decrease in the concentration gradient, the oxygen supply performance is also reduced. In addition, this unevenness can cause problems with single-point oxygen measurements, which are usually located in the upper part of the pool, where the oxygen concentration is higher than in the rest of the pool. Overall, the available pool capacity was not utilized. All in all, it was hoped that there would be a system that could meet all the above needs regarding bubble size and uniform mixing, be more flexible to use, and have a robust structure and are resistant to wear and tear.

The multi-surface mixer is also called an aeration agitator with a multi-layer impeller. It is used in municipal, chemical papermaking and other water treatment processes, water mixing is one of the key processes, the traditional mixing machinery is divided into two common ways of vertical shaft folding paddle type and horizontal (submersible) type, because the installation mode and the blade paddle form determines its stirring form, both in energy consumption and in the mixing effect are not ideal, not only to bring unnecessary increase to the operating cost of the sewage plant, but also will directly affect the final process treatment effect.

Multi-surface mixer mixing and aeration in one device, can also be single stirring, reasonable design, power consumption saving, can be used for large, medium and small row sewage treatment, less investment, good treatment effect, long service life, made of PE or FRP, steel materials, etc., strengthen the anti-corrosion performance of the equipment. The multi-surface mixer has simple structure, convenient management, high machining accuracy of the gearbox and good heat treatment, but it also has the phenomenon of broken gear teeth and no axial clearance left on the gear shaft. We cleaned the gearbox and carefully inspected the gears, gear shafts, and bearings.
